Glendowy is one of the most closely guarded secrets of Auckland’s posh family life. Glendowy is the most remote from the edge of the East Bay and is close to St Heliers and Glen Innes. Glendowy is not what you would call a place to shop. Several small shopping districts serve the local community, offering takeaway and baking food, sometimes a restaurant and cafe, and sometimes dairy products.
Dinner outside the house:
There are only a few restaurants and cafes in Glendow, and they mostly serve locals and are usually in the same block as the shops listed above.
The only form of public transport served by Glendowie is bus and taxi. Glendowi to the central business district usually runs on Tamaki Drive and can take 20 to 25 minutes during off-peak hours. The nearest train departs from the nearby suburb of Glen Innes, about a 5-minute drive from Glendow, and serves north and south.
